Art Teacher - Bradley Elementary, 2026/27 SY

 

Purpose: The Art teacher will be responsible for developing an interest in art and the ability for creative expression in each student using the skills and the techniques of artistic expression consistent with district guidelines, to develop appreciation and understanding of different forms of art, and to discover the talents of each student in the field of art.

 

Reports To: Building Principal

 

FLSA Status: Exempt

 

Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field
  2. Valid Kansas Teaching License in Art (by July 1, 2026)
  3. Health and Innoculation Certificate on file in the District Office (after an employment offer is made)

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Three-plus years of teaching experience in a K-12 setting
  2. Strong knowledge of art techniques, art history, and various media
  3. Excellent classroom management, organization, and communication skills
  4. Ability to inspire and motivate students to explore their creative potential
  5. Familiarity with educational technology and digital tools related to art instruction

  1. Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time

  3. Ability to use fine and gross motor manipulation skills for extended periods of time
  4. Ability to hear and understand speech at normal classroom levels, outdoors and on the telephone
  5. Ability to speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in normal classrooms, outdoors and on the telephone
  6. Physical agility to lift up to 25 pounds to shoulder height and 50 pounds to waist height
  7. Ability to bend, stoop, sit on the floor, climb stairs, walk and reach overhead
