Food Service Cook (2024-2025 School Year)
Job Description
Prior food service experience is not necessary for the Food Service Cook position. The district will train all new food service employees. Employees in this position will prepare a full range of food and baked products for school meals, catered events, and snacks. Assists in clean-up of all areas.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED (required)
- Health and Inoculation Certificate on file in the central office (after an employment offer is made).
- Ability to maintain a neat, clean appearance.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Desire to continue career improvement by enhancing skills and job performance.
- Demonstrate above-average communication skills
- Demonstrate ability to work well with colleagues
- Demonstrate ability to work well with childre
Reports To: Kitchen Manager
FLSA Status: Non-exempt, hourly

- Required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or bend for extended periods of time. As well as the ability to reach overhead.
- Must be able to work in extreme temperatures.
- Able to work with and be exposed to odors, chemicals, and a noisy environment.
- Must use hands and fingers in a repetitive manner.
- Must be able to work in an environment with frequent interruptions.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to lift, pull, and/or push up to 50 pounds.
