Position: Substitute School Bus Driver
Qualifications:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Must hold a valid state-issued CDL-Class B Drivers’ License with Endorsements P and S or reasonable assurance they will hold a CDL-Class B Drivers' License with Endorsements P and S by the start of the current school year.
- Must be able to pass and maintain a DOT Physical
- Must be able to pass a DOT Drug screen and will be subject to random DOT drug testing
- Complete and pass an American Red Cross First Aid/ CPR course.
- Pass pre-employment alcohol/drug screening test.
- Will be subject to random drug/ alcohol testing programs.
Reports To: Director of Transportation and Maintenance
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Essential Functions:
- Obeys all traffic laws and safety regulations for school buses
- Practices good public relations practices and is a positive representative of the school system
- Keeps assigned bus clean
- Checks bus before and after each operation for mechanical defects
- Checks all buses for gas, oil, washing (cleaning inside and out), and report other mechanical failures to the Director of Transportation & Maintenance.
- Transports only authorized students
- Enforces district behavior code for bus drivers
- Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information
- Supervises students and maintains discipline when on the bus
- Assist with minor maintenance and grounds projects within the district
- Reports all accidents and completes required reports
- Performs such other related duties as assigned by the district administration
Terms of Employment: Salary and work schedule to be determined by the Board.
Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board’s policy and Classified Handbook.
