Position: Pre-K Building Assistant
Qualifications: Minimum 2 year Associates Degree or above (preferred)
High School Diploma or GED (required)
Demonstrate above average communication skills
Demonstrate an ability to work well with colleagues
Demonstrate an ability to work well with children

Reports To: Building Principal
Position Purpose: To assist the Principal, Faculty and other staff in supporting the education of all students through collaborative child-centered practices.
Essential Job Functions: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to:
- Assist the classroom teacher as assigned by the Principal
- Work with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of materials or skills initially introduced by the classroom teacher.
- Assist the classroom teacher in all ways possible based on the specific needs of the individual classroom to ensure its smooth operation
- Assist in the monitoring of student progress
- Assist with classroom and material management
- Assist with the management of assessment records and student portfolios
- Supervise students in the lunchroom, playground, getting on and/or off the school bus, and other areas as assigned by the Principal
- Display good public relations skills
- Maintain a positive attitude and work cooperatively with others
- Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality concerning students, families, and other District personnel
- Performs such other duties as assigned by the supervising teacher and/or Principal
- Regular attendance at work.
- Other duties as assigned.
